República Colapsada Vol.2

República Colapsada Vol.2 is a curatorial project by Helena Acosta and Violette Bule, as part of the actions carried out under the project of visual activism founded by both: The goal is to disassemble the simulation. This is the second edition of a project that was held at Lite-Haus Gallery in the city of Berlin in 2016.

The exhibition is situated in the territory of the relations between art and politics. It raises a critical reflection to the current political and humanitarian crisis of the country. The curators, on the one hand, examine how art responds to political conjunctures and, on the other hand, develop a platform for visualization of contemporary Venezuelan history.

In this way, participating artists develop themes such as corruption, the despotic exercise of power, strategies of humiliation and demoralization of the population, blind submission to power, violence, dismantling of infrastructure and institutions, among others.
