WIZARD APPRENTICE (pronouns she/her or they/them) is an independent music producer, live performer, and video artist. As a highly-sensitive introvert, her multimedia projects are strategies for energetically managing an overwhelming world. Her music is a combination of lyrical precision, minimalistic composition, and technically amateurish charm. She creates digitally-based media that takes advantage of accessible, user-friendly technology; allowing her to skip time consuming learning curves and get straight to focusing on inventing personalized yet highly relatable language for deeply subtle and internal experiences. She's not a gear-head, rather, a digital folk artist who vividly and simplistically expresses her inner world using resourcefulness and honesty. Her video work incorporates green screen graphics, digital puppetry, and minimalistic compositing to produce imagery that’s cerebral, campy, and hypnotic. She combines song and video to create multimedia live performances that explore intimate emotional themes ranging from the challenges/triumphs of being an empath to overstimulation in the Internet Age.

“Carter’s singing harkens to that of a Catholic psalm or some sort of postmodern plainsong. Comparisons to Laurie Anderson would be appropriate. Although where Anderson confronts culture with a sideways glance, carter is entangled and entranced in the eccentric minutiae of her own psyche.” - The Wire, November 2018

RIVER SPIRIT has been active in the Detroit music scene since 2010. Their music has been featured on Audiofemme, Detroit Music Mag, Grand Circus Mag/ She Shreds, and Afro Punk.

“Hailing from Detroit, a city where musical movements are born on the regular, River Spirit cross lines no-one else had even noticed were intersecting. Their new single “Me I Fall” bares traces of jazz-punk, Oakland Afropop, math-rock, and a little classic R&B for good measure. Jagged riffs vie for space with Vanessa Reynolds’s plaintive, expansive melodies. It’s haunting one moment and riveting in the next...” - Afropunk

After spending a few years testing their ideas around Detroit, River Spirit has delivered their full-length debut “Me I Fall”, available on all streaming platforms January 25th 2019. Moving seamlessly through pop genres, the album has a sound that is refined. The songs are short and compact, filled with sharp corners and hooks. Thematically the album explores what it means to fall apart and what can be created when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to unravel; spaces of transition, the feeling of being submerged, literally and metaphorically. Me I Fall is Written and Performed by River Spirit; Additional Upright Bass by Betsy Soukup; Juanita Reynolds and Cynthia Burton Backing Vocals; Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered in Detroit by Scott Murphy (Atonuv).

RAFIA

'Dizzillusions' is multimedia artist RaFia's whimsically boisterous arrival to the music scene. The 6-track self-produced EP puts several new notches in the Brooklyn artist's tool belt with playful rhythms, surgically sharp lyrics, and sing-song flows.

Pairing 'Dizzillusions' with her identically-titled multi-billboard video display in Times Square, RaFia already sees her name in lights.

With lyrics like "Now you know that I got bars" in Money Leaves (Don't Stop), "I pray nobody sees when the wounds start bleeding" in Dreamin', and "I just wanna know what it's like when I don't have your treble drowning out my bass" in Get Off 'Dizzillusions' delivers twelve-and-a-half minutes of ego, self-reflection, and a demand for respect.

YATTA is an interdisciplinary artist, digipoet, and musician. They use incantations born of loop pedal drones, channeled screams, and improvised poetry to explore connections between psychosis, prayer, and presence. Their debut EP, ‘Spirit Said Yes!’ was released on PTP in 2017. This year, they are working on a record in conjunction with a theatrical production commissioned by NYC's The Shed. YATTA has shared the stage with musicians like Cardi B, William Basinski, and The Sun Ra Arkestra, creating multimedia performances that tour nationally and globally.
